College Freshman Prep Literature One- 9th & 10th Graders
$190 for the full year     Time: Noon-1:00
Yearly Book Fee $60 or bring your own.
Click here for a book list.
This class is great for those planning on going to college!
These classes are taught from a college prep standard-
ie: focus on analytical literature versus comprehensive literature.
If you have any questions on what analytical literature means, please feel free to ask!
This will be an in depth class- students will have weekly reading assignments and will also learn how to
write an MLA standard college paper. Students will learn how to dissect a work of literature and
discuss each work on its merit. They will also learn how to delve deeper into literature than their basic
book report. This class rotates with the CFPL2 class, so students will be able to take two years worth of
literature before going to college. We will study a variety of works from both American and British
authors.
I have had over a hundred students complete this class- it is an awesome opportunity!
This class is open for 9th & 10th graders

College Freshman Prep Literature Two 11th & 12th Graders
$190 for the full year     Time: 1:00-2:00
Yearly Book Fee $60 or bring your own
Similar to the CFPL One class but with more advanced works.
This class is great for those planning on going to college or participating in dual enrollment!
We will cover some of the works which are traditionally introduced in Freshman year at college as well
as those which the student is expected to be familiar with. This will be an intensive class- students will
have weekly reading assignments and will also learn how to write an MLA standard college paper.
Students will learn how to dissect a work of literature and discuss each work on its merit. They will also
learn how to delve deeper into literature than their basic book report. This class rotates with the
CFPL1 class, so students will be able to take two years worth of literature before going to college.
We will study a variety of American and British authors.
11th or 12th graders who have NOT taken the Lit one class are still welcome to join this class.
However, it is recommended that 11th graders take the CFPL1 class (as it can still be counted for their
11th grade lit credit) and then take the CFPL2 class next year.
11th & 12th graders can take both classes at the same time, but they will have a lot of reading to
cover and will need to have a light schedule in other areas.
