| Grammar & Writing Skills (2 spaces left) Ages 12 & Up 9:00-9:50 ALL SUPPLIES INCLUDED This is a great class for your middle school student! We will review basic grammar rules and learn more advanced applications. We will also study creative and essay writing skills. Students will learn the basics of sentence structure and paragraphing. They will learn how to organize & express their thoughts on paper. Students will also learn basic editing skills and correct comma usage. Students will also keep weekly journals and have learn how to write both creatively and comprehensively. This is a great class for your reluctant writer! |
| Wednesdays Sept 10th- April 29th Vacation Days are- Fall Break- Oct 8th Thanksgiving Break- Nov 26th Christmas Break- Dec 17th- Jan 7th Spring Break -March 4th Easter- April 15th Tuition is $60 per month per class. Tuition may be paid with postdated checks for any date of the month that will work best for your family. Save $30! Pay at the beginning of the year for the price of $450 per class. Registration is due by Aug 31. There is a $15 registration fee per child. (Please subtract registration fee from first month's tuition) Why the super small class size? In the past, I have taught classes with 12 or more students. I would like to offer more one on one attention while still being able to take advantage of group activities and games. Students who do not make it into a class will have the option of being 'wait listed'. Once four students are on that list, another class may be added to accommodate those students. These classes are more like 'group tutoring' without the private tutoring price (private tutoring is $100-$140/month) Weekly Work Each week the students (Ages 8 & Up) will have approximately 3 days worth of work to complete at home. It is imperative that your child keep up with their assignments to complete the full year. Length of assignments are age appropriate- your child will not be overloaded. All classes are taught with an upbeat attitude. I want the kids to learn and also ENJOY learning! |
| Language Arts & Reading Comprehension (2 spaces left) Ages 8-12 10:00-10:50 ALL SUPPLIES INCLUDED This is a great class for those who are reading independently but need help with comprehension. We will learn how to understand what is being read and how to 'retell' the events of a story. We will also learn the basics of grammar- including parts of speech, sentence structure, tense agreement, and voice. Students will have small writing assignments to get them comfortable with expressing their thoughts on paper. We will read short stories and paragraphs to comprehend. Students will also read 2-3 short books. |
| Beginners Studio Art & Art History (2 spaces left) Ages 8-12 11:00-11:50 ALL SUPPLIES INCLUDED This is a wonderful class for those both interested in learning the basics of studio art and about the great artists who have influenced the art world. Materials we will use include- Graphite Pencils, Color Pencils, Charcoal, Acrylic Paint, Oil Paint, Oil Pastels, & Clay Techniques we will study are- Composition, Layout & Design, Shading, Quartering, How to use color, Shading, & more This is a great class for beginners! |
| Creative Kids Art from Around the World (3 spaces left) Ages 5-7 12:00-12:50 ALL SUPPLIES INCLUDED This is a great project based class for the younger kids! Each week we will make a craft from a different part of the world and learn a little about that country. Students will have fun activities to take home as well such as language sheets, recipes, stories etc from the country we studied. This is a great class to teach kids how to work with their hands, but not feel intimidated by 'heavy' assignments. We have a lot of fun, and the kids enjoy learning about the rest of world along the way! |
