High School Grades

High School Essay

This class is suited for students working at a high school level. This class is simular to the Thursday class but on a condensed format. Both sessions combined will be equivalent to 1 transcript credit. These classes will be “MLA” style and will include bibliography, quoting, and footnoting when applicable.

Session 1: The Informative essay with detailed outlining and the Persuasive essay.

Dates: Fridays, August 20-October 15 (off Sept 24th)
Cost: $140 per student (payment plans accepted)
Time: 10Am-Noon
Required homework: approx 4 hrs/wk

Session 2: The Compare/Contrast essay and the Research Paper
Dates: Fridays, Nov 5-Jan 28 (taking a break for Thanksgiving weekon Nov 26 and Christmas Dec 17-31) Classes would resume Jan 7 & end Jan 21
Time: 10AM-Noon
Cost: $140 per student

Required homework: approx 6 hrs/wk

High School Spanish One & Two
This is an excellent class for your child who needs to get their foreign language credits completed. We will meet for 16 weeks for Spanish One and 16 weeks for Spanish Two.

We will be using the Ven Conmigo Curriculum by Holt Rhinehart Winston. Students will be completing a chapter a week and can expect to have 4+ hours of at home work and study time each week.

There are 12 chapters in each book plus we will have a mid term and a final exam for each session. Your child can sign up for both classes or, if they have had Spanish One before, they can join us in the Spring for Spanish Two.

Cost, Dates & Times:
Spanish One- $280/full 16 weeks

Your child will need the following textbooks-

Spanish One-
Holt Ven Conmigo Level One (Any of the 1996, 2000, or 2003 editions will work)
Level One grammar & vocabulary workbook (Or- I can make you a copy of the workbook from my blackline edition for an $8 copy fee)

Spanish Two-
Holt Ven Conmigo Level Two (Any of the 1996, 2000, or 2003 editions will work)

Elementary & Middle Grades

Conversational Spanish
Grades 2nd-5th

Students will need a single subject notebook and folder with prongs.
This is a great class for both those who have had no introduction to Spanish or some
conversational Spanish/vocabulary building. We will work with an awesome collection of worksheets from Frank Schaffer publishing as well as hands on activities to encourage your child’s love for this language!
