| Studio Art Skills 4th and Up 1:00-1:55 ALL Supplies Included! In this class, we will study a wide variety of drawing & painting medias and techniques. This is an excellent class for a child who is new to art or looking to find their favorite media. We will concentrate on the several different types of media one can use when drawing or painting and how each method creates a different effect. This is a very upbeat class! Children are encouraged to be creative and find their own artistic style while learning how to blend, shade, mix, and compose their artwork. I teach a 'technique' based class- not a 'project' based class. In a 'project based' class, the students are taught how to specifically draw a tree or a bush etc. The problem with that style is that project is all they can then draw. In a technique based class, your child will not come home with a completed work each week. Instead, they will learn the tools they need to draw anything they desire. However, they will have 2-3 completed works each six week term as the year progresses. |
