| Adult One Day Workshops (Ages 16 & Up w/ previous art experience also welcome) Intro to Oil Painting $60 Saturday, March 20th 10am-3pm This is a great class for those who are new to oils. We will learn the basic oil painting techniques including: composition, quartering, blending, shading, and detail work. Students will spend the first 60 minutes on technique and then have a half hour lunch break followed by three and a half hours of guided oil painting. Students should bring a sampling of photographs they would like to re-create in oil. The instructor will help choose which one would be most suitable for the time allowed . Photographs should not be too 'busy' and should include something the student is interested in such as a favorite animal, vacation spot, scene, or sport. Using a photograph for a reference is the best way to begin painting with oils as it allows the student to take their time and quarter their work. Pictures from magazines are fine- make sure the picture is no smaller than 4x6. Students will leave with a completed or near completed work.
